Voice Memos already available locally on your Mac, plus any audio files you import manually from a folder (M4A, MP3, WAV, MP4, WebM, OGG).
First, check that the recordings actually play in Apple Voice Memos on your Mac. If they show a download spinner or won't play, they haven't finished syncing yet - wait for them, or AirDrop them from your iPhone and use "Import Exported Audio Folder."

Voice Memo Exporter works with recordings that are available on your Mac. It doesn't connect to iCloud or your iPhone directly.

The archive still preserves your original audio and metadata even when a transcript needs review. If transcription quality is a dealbreaker for your recordings, email me and we'll figure out next steps - including a refund if it's not the right tool.
Voice Memo Exporter currently supports English transcription only. Recordings in other languages can still be archived, but they will not be transcribed reliably.
The archive itself still works normally: copied audio, metadata, reports, and export files are preserved even when transcription is not a good fit for the recording.
macOS requires explicit permission for apps to read certain folders, including where Voice Memos are stored. When prompted, you may need to grant Full Disk Access or folder permissions in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
This is normal Mac behavior. Voice Memo Exporter only reads your local files - it doesn't upload them anywhere.
